There are a little more than 1000 cities in Russia with the population of more than 3000 people and there are Sahaja Yogis in almost 200 of them. There is a great number of cities where people have never heard about Sahaja Yoga and our task, the task of everyone in our Russian family, is to bring the message about this Pure Knowledge to these cities.

The name of the Project “1000 Petals” symbolizes the cities of Great Russia the number of which is a little more than 1000. Every city is unique but altogether they form one multi-colored thousand-petal flower.

This Project is aimed to coordinate and ease the work on spreading Sahaja Yoga in Russia. The minimum task of the Project is to hold Public Programs in each of these 1000 cities and then to keep the seekers interested by regular programs for the newcomers and in such a way – to create at least one Sahaja Yogi in each city.

About 100 City Councils for Spreading Sahaja Yoga act in Russia at the moment. They consist of about 800 Sahaja Yogis. Within the Project “1000 Petals” every member of the City Council must take the responsibility for one or two cities where Sahaja Yoga is not established yet. He/she must help to organize programs there and, further, he/she must keep in touch with the realized seekers and support them on the way of becoming Sahaja Yogis. Each member of the City Council can create a team consisting of the Yogis of the main collective. The beginning of this Project was announced in July 2006 at the Russian National Sahaja Yoga Seminar. Many Russian collectives have been acting according to the proposed scheme since August 2006. The Russian National Council for Sahaja Yoga Advancement helps the collectives to realize this project and also coordinates their work.

In the database of the information system there is an opportunity to keep and see the details about every locality with the population of more than 3000 people. This information is about spreading Sahaja Yoga in this or that locality. In particular:

Coordinator of spreading SY in a certain locality;

• His address;
• Contact phone number;
• E-mail;
• Address of the web-site of the SY Center of this locality;
• Time-table of the weekly meetings for those who wish to start practicing Sahaja Yoga with the exact addresses of the meetings;
• Announces of the coming Self-Realization programs in this locality;
• The quantity of Sahaja Yogis (only for registered users).

In total, the data base includes 7 districts, 89 regions, 4130 localities (including 1134 cities). The total population in localities is 117573.8 thousand people (including 97624.5 city inhabitants).
